Fish
Many types of fish, such as salmon, saithe and cod, are extremely healthy for dogs. They are full of vitamins, polyunsaturated fatty acids and essential amino acids that dogs cannot produce themselves. The high proportion of omega-3 fatty acids in particular benefits your four-legged friend's health. Omega-3 fatty acids have an anti-inflammatory effect and help with allergies, skin and coat problems, heart health and many other processes in the body. Fish should also be a regular part of your dog's diet because of the many vitamins it contains. It contains plenty of vitamin A to support bones, eyesight and the immune system. B vitamins such as vitamin B2, B3 and B12 are important for the skin, coat and nervous system. Most types of fish are also easily digestible for dogs with allergies and sensitive stomachs. Older or sick dogs in particular benefit from the numerous nutrients found in fish.
